Need MS VDA license for iscsi boot? - soongin - 2012-01-12 09:38 Hello, Currently I'm trying to deploy iSCSI boot for all our PCs in work environment. It's all same PCs and have Windows 7 Professional OEM license. (iPXE and linux IET backend.) One of my employee said we may need VDA license but I think we don't cause it's not virtual infrastructure. I want to clarify this licensing issue before we go to next step. Any comment or URL about this issue will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Daniel RE: Need MS VDA license for iscsi boot? - robinsmidsrod - 2012-01-14 17:38 I think you should read carefully through what the OEM license actually says. The only difference is that the drive your installing on is on the network. From the technical perspective I can't see anything that should stop you from installing, but from the legal perspective this might be covered by some part of the EULA. I'd take this question to your Microsoft representative (or lawyer). I believe Microsoft has forums where licensing (along with technical) questions can be asked. |
