/etc/hosts functionality - oxtan - 2020-10-01 15:23

hi,

for a project I would like to add /etc/hosts functionality to ipxe. That is, I would like to temporarily map ip addresses to hostnames without using a dns server.

I haved searched the documentation and the forum, but could not find anything like this.

The reason why is we need to use internally signed certificates for some internet hosts, and obviously someone with infinite wisdom mandated that the internal hosts should use *.local tlds, so I am stuck with that.

Is there a way to do this, or do I need to use a custom dns server with a fake zone that does what I require?

TIA,
oxtan
