installing windows to iscsi - kiwa - 2013-06-01 18:57 Hi, sorry for my English. I am trying to install windows (7 or 8) to an iscsi target, i can see the disk on the installer. Even i installed successfully Windows XP on another iscsi target (folowing this: http://chee-yang.blogspot.com/2012/04/install-windows-xp-on-iscsi-target.html ). Windows PE recognizes the disc, i can do partitions, but really slow, when i get in the step of "copying windows files" after a while just fails with "Windows could not format a partition on disk 1. The error occurred while preparing the partition selected for installation. Error Code 0x80070057" I get the exact same message on windows 7 or windows 8. my ipxe configuration is: Quote:sanhook iscsi:192.168.32.4:::0:iqn.2013-03.net.stuff:win7 the last line is for chainloading a ERPXE menu and then windows PE 3.0 or 4.0. RE: installing windows to iscsi - robinsmidsrod - 2013-06-05 09:54 It _could_ be that your pxelinux.0/ERPXE setup does something strange. I would advise trying to replace that last line (chain) with the method specified in http://ipxe.org/howto/winpe to get the installer started. The slowness you're encountering might be related to a default gateway that is very slow. Setting set netX/gateway 0.0.0.0 before your sanhook might help with that issue. |
