RE: ASIX USB to Ethernet
Hello,
I gave your repository at https://github.com/johntwillis/ipxe a try to see if I could PXE boot my Lenovo X1 Carbon (2013 model) using an Apple USB->Ethernet adapter. The Apple USB Ethernet adapter is a AX88772 asix adapter with IDs 05ac:1402. See the dmesg logs below; Quote:[87658.231359] usb 3-2.4: new high-speed USB device number 30 using xhci_hcd See https://github.com/johntwillis/ipxe/pull/1 I wasn't able to make this work though as the Carbon doesn't have a UHCI (nor OHCI) controller inside the machine. It does have both a USB3.0 xHCI controller and USB2.0 EHCI controller. (The xHCI controller disappears if you disable USB3.0 support in the BIOS.) Thanks for your work so far. Hopefully iPXE will grow xHCI support sometime in the future. |
