The Intel firmware flash tool doesn't support LOM (LAN-on-motherboard). You need to find a tool that allows you to modify a BIOS image with an updated ROM for the onboard network card. Once you've built a new BIOS image you need to flash it using the BIOS flash tool for your machine.
But I would suggest that you try out chainloading iPXE before you burn it to ROM, especially when you have a limited set of boot options. If the machine has enough RAM, you should be able to boot WinPE (which is what the XP install disc uses) completely in RAM and start the install from there. |
