I asked around. My colleague who created the iPXE server set it to VMXNET3 a week ago to check if that would solve the slow wimboot. The VM had an E1000 card before that and it was equally slow, I'm afraid. Thank you for your input though, it's appreciated. Anything else you can think of? It's driving me crazy.
