I just install Apache on my own Linux server and put the files in /var/www/htdocs/. I then try to load the URL in my browser. If I can see the text file there, you're good to go for making a script load by iPXE.

For more information on scripting and how to load the first script, you'd really want to look at the chainloading article on the main website, and the very extensive scripting documentation.
Thanks for the reply. I have since found that http://www.netboot.me is such a site. Their ISO can be booted under QEMU and works fine! Unfortunately, I can not boot it in the 'raw' from USB on my i3 Acer notebook as their linux hangs (but it works fine on an EeePC netbook!). Do you know of any other sites which provide ready-made images (or even ones which you can upload your own images)?
cheers, Steve
