RE: iPXE vs VMware Workstation 5 or 8 on WinXP Host
Hi Guys,

I am the Tiny PXE Server author.

I had a look at the network trace.

For sure I see icmp messages indicating "destination unreachable - port unreachable".
This is right after one ack block (second time ack actually, first one went ok).
These messages come from the host running pxe server and sent to the vmware guest running pxelinux/ipxe.
If I read it correctly (correct me otherwise), that would mean the pxe client sent a second ack block but at this point the server ("my" server) would have closed already the socket?

Some questions then :
why did the pxe client send the ack block 2 times? obviously, after first ack, the server will close it... is not this erroneous to send another second block ack ?
why does this happen only in vmware?
why does it happen only with ipxe?

Regards,
Erwan
